Support Mental Health at Home

An app to connect you and your VA provider

A person looks at their cellphone while sitting in their house.Your mental health is just as important as your physical health. VA mental health providers can work with you to improve your well-being with the MHA for Veterans (Mental Health Assistant) app. This app was formerly known as Mental Health Checkup for Veterans.

This web app will help you and your VA provider keep track of your mental health. With MHA for Veterans, you can complete provider-assigned assessments from anywhere on a smartphone, tablet, or computer.

Using MHA for Veterans

You can stay connected to your VA mental health provider without leaving home. MHA for Veterans can provide support for a diagnosed mental health condition or to keep track of your well-being. Your VA mental health provider will assign you assessments and communicate with you on your progress.

You can receive text or email notifications with links to assessments that are ready for you to complete. Each link will take you directly to the assessment your health care team has assigned to you. You can submit your responses without having to log into the app. When you finish an assessment, you'll be able to review real-time results related to your mental health. Your VA mental health provider can also give you feedback directly through the app.

You can see your completed assessments and compare your results over time in the MHA for Veterans Patient Portal.
