Healthy Living Centers are educational and health promotion materials on healthy living. The Centers enable Veterans to take control of their own health. From eating better, to physical activity, to healthy behaviors and medication safety, the Centers provide information and services for Veterans and Servicemembers making the move from active duty to civilian life. Veterans can use these Centers to improve their health on their own terms.

A study published in the New England Journal of Medicine looked at a large group of retired elderly, nonsmoking men who were followed for 12 years. Those who walked less than 1 mile/day were almost 2 times more likely to die from any cause than those who walked more than 2 miles/day. So, let's get to walking! Every day!
