Log in Securely with DS Logon
Security and privacy are a top priority in the Department of Veterans Affairs (VA). Secure and safe internet usernames and passwords help protect Electronic Health Records and other personal information on the Internet. One way VA helps you protect your information is with DS Logon, a secure ID managed by the Department of Defense (DoD).
A DS Logon is an ID issued by DoD that will let you access many VA and DoD sites with one user username and password. Sites and resources that accept DS Logon include eBenefits, as well as new mobile apps that will allow you to view your health records or other VA data.
A DS Logon Level 2 (Premium) account is the same as an eBenefits Premium account, but is different from a My HealtheVet account. If you are a My HealtheVet user with a My HealtheVet premium account, you will still need to register for a DS Logon Level 2.
Setting up a DS Logon Level 2 (Premium) Account is important as it provides you with a secure logon ID that is used to access various DoD and VA websites. This includes eBenefits and any of the new VA mobile health apps that connect to VA's Electronic Health Record (EHR).
Remember, if you are a My HealtheVet user and have a My HealtheVet account, you will still need to register for a DS Logon Level 2. Your My HealtheVet login can't be used for DS Logon access.
My Access Center is the starting point to get or verify your DS Logon.
How to Get a DS Logon for eBenefits is a video that walks through the step-by-step process of how to register for a DS Logon Level 2 (Premium) account. A DS Logon Level 2 Premium Account is the same thing as having an eBenefits Premium Account.
