Poor sleep can be linked to critical issues like suicide, high blood pressure, heart failure, diabetes, and depression. Sleep disorders, including insomnia, sleep apnea, and others, are highly prevalent among Veterans and the quality of sleep impacts every aspect of wellness. Compounding the problem is a lack of sleep specialists nationwide.
On September 4, VA's Office of Connected Care and Disabled American Veterans (DAV) held a Facebook Live event that showcased how tools and technologies, including Path to Better Sleep, Remote Veteran Apnea Management Platform (REVAMP), CBT-i Coach and others, support Veterans who are struggling with sleep issues.
