What's Your Rank? My HealtheVet's Account Types
When you were in the service, you were used to ranks. Now My HealtheVet is doing the same, finding a clear, new way to mark different levels of access to all of My HealtheVet's useful features.
My HealtheVet offers three account types: Basic, Advanced and Premium. As a registered user, your account type will now be displayed in the Member Login box on the My HealtheVet home page.
It's pretty straightforward. If you have a Basic Account, there will be a after your name. If you have an Advanced Account, there will be an after your name. If you have a Premium Account, there will be a next to your name. This way, with one glance, you can easily see the type of account you have.
At a Glance: My HealtheVet Account Types
Basic Account - Anyone can register for this account type. It provides limited access to features in My HealtheVet that you self-enter.
Advanced Account - This account is only for Veterans/VA Patients. It is a higher level of access to features offered in My HealtheVet. This account does not require that you have your identity Authenticated.
Premium Account - This account is also only for Veterans/VA Patients and gives users access to all My HealtheVet features. This account does require Authentication.
Your account type will determine the access you have to your Veterans Affairs/Department of Defense records. With a Premium account, you will be able to see more information about your health and service history. You can also use more of My HealtheVet's features and more closely connect with your VA health care team.
The best thing about My HealtheVet's types of accounts is that it's easy to move up in the ranks. To get a Premium account, first, you need to select Veteran and/or VA Patient (or both) in your profile. Then you will have to go through an authentication process. This means that VA verifies your identity and ensures your information is secure.
