Keep Your Contact Info Up-To-Date on My HealtheVet
My HealtheVet can be your personal health record keeper. It keeps your personal information, such as your email address, street address, and essential contact information on record. This information isn't shared outside of My HealtheVet, but it's important to keep it updated. If you change your name, address, telephone number or email, contact your VAMC as soon as possible.
Let's say you're moving. Moving can be a really exciting time, and it can also be very stressful.
In the midst of all the hectic planning and packing, it's important to remember that you contact your VA Medical Center or clinic to let them know of these changes as soon as possible - especially if you receive medications from VA. When you change such information in My HealtheVet, it stays in My HealtheVet - your VA facility will NOT receive the updated information unless you share this information with them. This is why you must also contact your VA Medical Center with any changes.
Did you get a new email address? Or have you recently gotten a new telephone number? Both are great reasons to login to your account and update your personal information. Here's how you do it.
- Login to your My HealtheVet Account
- Select Personal Information from the top navigation bar
- Next, select My Profiles from the sub-navigation bar
- On the My Profiles page, update your information accordingly
- Select "Save"
Once you have saved your updated information, your My HealtheVet account will be current. You can then print a wallet card with the updated information, so you have it on your person at all times.
Again, be sure to contact your VA Medical Center to ensure that your address or other contact information is updated in the national VA system.
