Ask about aspirin. Aspirin has been shown to protect the heart by preventing clot formation. But do not start taking aspirin regularly without your Health Care Provider's approval. Besides sometimes causing stomach irritation, long-term aspirin use may increase the chance of bleeding into vital organs.
