Physical Activity as Part of Weight Management

Your weight is controlled by a number of things (PDF) including family history, what you eat and drink, and how active you are. When you take in more calories than you use, you gain weight. The best way to lose weight is to eat and drink fewer calories and become more physically active.

Making healthy food choices (PDF), increasing physical activity (PDF), and changing your behavior (PDF) are the three things you need to do to successfully manage your weight.

For more ideas on how to increase your physical activity refer to these handouts:

Tip of the Day

Don't bite off more than you can chew! Manage your time more effectively. Make a "To Do List" of things that you can achieve and set priorities. Break tasks into smaller-sized chunks. Delegate as much as you can. Remember that tomorrow is another day, and come to terms with the fact that you may not get everything done today.
