What Account Types Are Available and What Are the Differences?

Anyone registering on My HealtheVet starts with a Basic or Advanced account. Users who select "VA Patient" or "Veteran" will start with an Advanced account. .
Anyone who registers on My HealtheVet starts with a Basic Account. This account does not require that you have your identity Authenticated. A Basic Account provides limited access to features in My HealtheVet that you self-enter. You may use the journals and other tools to track your health measures. However, you cannot see your personal information located in VA or DoD systems.
This account is only for Veterans and/or VA Patients. It is a higher level of access to features offered in My HealtheVet. It provides you the ability to view some information in your VA and/or DoD records. This account does not require that you have your identity Authenticated. However, when you register as a VA Patient, your profile information is linked to VA/DoD records. When this happens, you are given an Advanced Account. If you are a VA patient, this type of account lets you refill your VA prescriptions online using My HealtheVet.
This account is only for Veterans and/or VA Patients. It gives users the highest level of access to My HealtheVet features. To get this type of account you need to go through Authentication and have your My HealtheVet profile information (full name, Social Security Number (SSN), date of birth (DOB) and gender) linked to VA/DoD records. After you register, your account type will be displayed in the Member Login box. Those with a Premium Account will have after their name
A Basic My HealtheVet account provides the ability to self-record and track personal health information such as allergies and adverse reactions, immunizations, lab and test results, prescription and over the counter medications, vitamins. A Basic account allows users to record the daily blood sugar, blood pressure, weight and much more. There are also areas to document you and your family's health history, all in a private and secure portal. Users can access the Blue Button feature to view, download, print and share their self-entered information. Additionally, those with a Basic My HealtheVet account can complete the HealtheLiving Assessment which provides a personalized report to include recommendations on how to improve one's health and lower disease risk.
An Advanced account is only for Veterans/VA Patients. It is a higher level of access to features offered in My HealtheVet. It may provide you the ability to view some information in your VA records. When you register as a Veteran/VA Patient, your registration information (full name, Social Security Number (SSN), date of birth (DOB) and gender) is matched to your VA/DoD records. The Advanced account does not require that you have your identity authenticated An Advanced My HealtheVet account grants you access to all of the features a Basic account offers PLUS VA Prescription Refill , VA Prescription Tracker, VA Medication History and access to VA Allergies and Adverse Reactions
