VA Vitals and Readings

Viewing your VA Vitals and Readings in My HealtheVet (www.myhealth.va.gov) is simple. It is easy to use, private and secure. As long as you have Internet access, you can view it anytime from anywhere. To access your VA Vitals and Reading, you must:

  • Be a Veteran enrolled at a VA health care facility

  • Be a registered as a VA Patient in My HealtheVet

  • Have an upgraded Premium* account

* To get an upgraded Premium My HealtheVet account, you will need to go through authentication. This is a process by which VA verifies a Veterans' identity before allowing access to your VA health record. Information in your VA Vitals and Readings may include your vital signs and certain health measures (or readings) that come from your official VA health record. Vital signs are health measurements taken during an appointment, a procedure, or when you are a patient in the hospital. This is done to assess your basic body functions. This information can be used to make informed decisions about your health.

My HealtheVet also has a section called Track Health where you can self-enter your own Vitals + Readings. This is information that you update and maintain in your My HealtheVet account. Each self-entered measure will show you a graph of the information you entered. This may help you as you work towards improving your health. There are nine measures you can self-enter and track:

  • Blood Pressure

  • Heart Rate

  • Body Weight

  • Body Temperature

  • International Normalized Ratio (INR)

  • Blood Sugar

  • Cholesterol (Lipids Profile)

  • Pulse Oximetry

  • Pain

Having your self-entered Vitals + Readings along with your VA Vitals and Readings available in My HealtheVet may be helpful. It gives you easy, convenient access to information about your health on demand. This information may also be shared with your caregiver or non-VA providers to help them better understand your health concerns. You may use the VA Blue Button to view, print or download your VA Vitals and Readings along with your other information in your My HealtheVet account.
