Learn More About My HealtheVet Pharmacy Features

Most prescriptions issued by VA can be refilled by submitting a request through My HealtheVet. The list of medications in My HealtheVet may be different from the one you get after your VA clinical visit. Also not included are:

  1. new prescriptions that have not yet been processed by the VA Pharmacy

  2. medications that were given to you in a clinic or emergency department

If you cannot view prescription(s) that should be displayed, contact your VA Pharmacy for information. The phone number for the VA Pharmacy can be found on the prescription label.

Note: The 'i' in the Select to Refill/Fill column appears when a VA prescription is not available for refill/filling at this time. If you have questions about the prescription, please contact the VA Pharmacy.

There are five (5) features available in the My HealtheVet Pharmacy section:

Refill VA Prescriptions (Rx Refill)

VA Prescription History

Self-Entered Medications + Supplements

My Medications List

VA Prescription Tracking

Refill VA Prescriptions (Rx Refill) - for users registered as a VA patient and a CHAMPVA beneficiary with a Premium My HealtheVet account.

Your active prescriptions filled by a VA Pharmacy are displayed in this section. You can fill/refill most of your active VA prescriptions online. In addition, this section does NOT display VA prescriptions that:

  • have expired

  • have been discontinued

  • that were given to you in a clinic or emergency department

  • have new prescription orders that have not yet been processed by the VA Pharmacy (Pending status)

If you believe you have refillable prescriptions that are not displayed, please contact the pharmacy staff at the VA facility that prescribed your medicines. The phone number is on the prescription label.

Your prescriptions are dispensed and delivered to you by a VA Mail Order Pharmacy and in some cases, they are filled by your local VA Medical Center Pharmacy. The VA Mail Order Pharmacy ships to all addresses in the United States and its territories, but not to any foreign countries.

Note: VA prescriptions are delivered to the mailing address listed in your official VA record and can be updated by contacting the VA Pharmacy listed on your VA prescription label.

VA Prescription History - for users registered as a VA patient with a Premium My HealtheVet account.

This section does NOT show:

  • Self-entered medications, prescriptions, and supplements

  • Medication given to you in a clinic or emergency department

If you cannot view prescription(s) that should be displayed, contact your local VA Pharmacy for information.

Self-Entered Medications + Supplements - for a registered user with a Basic or Premium My HealtheVet account.

This section is a blended view of all medications (including over-the-counter), prescriptions and supplements that YOU self-entered in your medication journal.

Note: Your health care team CANNOT view this list. If you would like to share it with your VA health care team, you must print this list and bring it to your next clinic visit.

My Medications List - for any registered user with a Basic or Premium My HealtheVet account.

This list displays:

  • for Premium VA patient and CHAMPVA beneficiary account holders, VA-issued prescriptions in your VA health record at your VA health facility; your prescription history and

  • for Basic and Premium VA patient and CHAMPVA beneficiary account holders, medications, prescriptions, and supplements YOU entered in your My HealtheVet self-entered Medications List.

Note: Your VA health care team CANNOT view this list. If you would like to share it with your VA health care team, print this list and bring to your next clinic visit.

This list displays both:

  • medications, prescriptions and supplements in your My HealtheVet self-entered Medication List

  • VA-issued medications, prescriptions, and supplements in your records at VA health facilities

This section does NOT show:

  • new prescriptions that have not yet been processed by the VA Pharmacy

  • medicines that are/were administered in a clinic or emergency department

If you cannot view prescription(s) that should be displayed, contact your VA Pharmacy for information.

VA Prescription Tracking - for users registered as a VA patient and CHAMPVA beneficiary with a Premium My HealtheVet account.

This page shows your VA prescription packages the VA Pharmacy filled and mailed in the last 15 days.

This section also includes tracking for prescriptions mailed from a VA Pharmacy (such as some controlled substances and items that have special shipping requirements).

If you do not receive your package, first contact the delivery service that is delivering your package. Their contact information and/or phone number is on their website.

If the delivery service is not able to help, contact the VA facility where you got the prescription. The phone number for the VA Pharmacy can be found on the prescription label. These issues are resolved by your local VA Medical Center in coordination with the VA Mail Order Pharmacy.

You can sign up to receive VA Rx shipment notifications on your My Profile page.
