There's good news for many veterans receiving prescriptions from VA. On February 27, 2017, the regulations for copayments changed. The cost to most veterans for medications required on an outpatient basis to treat non-service connected conditions is less.
Veterans Can Now Schedule Appointments Online
Veterans at more than 100 VA Medical Centers (VAMCs) across the country are now able to request or schedule certain types of appointments online through My HealtheVet. If you have VA health care benefits, you can schedule or request some of your VA health appointments online.
Can I Get Travel Costs for VA Health Care?
Many Veterans can be reimbursed for travel costs related to VA health care services. The Beneficiary Travel program helps eligible Veterans receive mileage reimbursement. In some cases, it can pay for the costs of an ambulance or a wheel chair van.
