VA Appointments - Event Detail

The My HealtheVet Personal Health Record (PHR) provides a method for a user to view the details of his/her appointment records from a VA facility. The VA Appointments - Event Detail page displays a detailed record of a selected VA Appointment.

VA Appointments Personal Health Record: Displays the name of the person that is logged into My HealtheVet. It also tells you the date and time your VA Appointment information was last updated.

Blue Information Box: Tells you important information you need to know before your appointment.

Before Your Appointment

  • The VA online scheduling tool may be available to access and confirm your VA appointments. Access to online scheduling varies by facility, date of last appointment, and type of appointment.

  • Check the date, time and location of your scheduled upcoming appointment on the VA Appointments list before your visit.

  • Please remember to bring your insurance information with you to your appointment.

You can choose to subscribe to VA Appointment email notifications and reminders on your My Profile page.

Event Detail

Provides the following detailed information about a specific appointment that you selected from the Appointment Summary page:

Appointment Date/Time: Displays the date and time for the scheduled appointment.

Medical Center Division: Displays the name of the VA facility where the appointment is scheduled.

Location Information (Physical Location): Displays where your appointment is so you know where to go.

Clinic Name: Displays the name of the clinic where the appointment is scheduled.

Clinic Contact Information: When available, the phone number of the clinic where the appointment is scheduled is displayed.

Additional Contact: Additional telephone Information.

Status: The status of the appointment is displayed as one of the following values:

Status: Future appointments will have a status of Confirmed or Canceled. It is always good to check the status of your VA Appointments before your clinic visit.

Status: Past appointments will have a status of Completed, Canceled and No Show. If you feel the status is incorrect, you can contact your VA Health Care team.

Status: Unknown - Sometimes MHV will display a status as Unknown, which is a temporary status. The user can check later to see if the status has been updated.

Compensation and Pension: Only displays if the appointment is a Compensation and Pension appointment. You will see "This is a Compensation and Pension Appointment".

Lab Date/Time: Only displays if you have a Lab activity that needs to be done before your clinic appointment.

X-Ray Date/Time: Only displays if you have an X-Ray that needs to be done before your clinic appointment.

EKG Date/Time: Only displays if you have an EKG that needs to be done before your clinic appointment.
(EKG dates are no longer updated. You may continue to view your historical EKG dates.)

Return to Summary: Returns you to the VA Appointments Summary page.

Blue Information Box: Tells you that VA Appointment information comes from your official VA Medical Record. My HealtheVet does not share your information with VA's appointment system. To cancel, change or request a VA Appointment contact your local VA Facility or use the Online Scheduling Tool.

Note: If you have Secure Messaging, you can cancel or change your appointment by sending a Secure Message to your health care team.

Print: Displays a Printer Friendly page of your VA Appointment that you can print. You can also print your VA Appointments from your Health Calendar and using the Blue Button feature.

To print your appointment list from the Health Calendar:

  • Log in to your My HealtheVet account

  • Select the Get Care tab

  • Select the Health Calendar tab

  • Select List View

  • Under Showing Event Types select VA Appointments

  • Select Update View

  • Select Print

  • Select Print again

To download your data using Blue Button:

  • Log in to your My HealtheVet account

  • Select the Blue Button Medical Reports box

  • Select VA Blue Button Report box

  • Select a Date Range

  • Under Appointments, select Future VA Appointments

  • Scroll to the bottom and select Submit

  • Select Download if you want an electronic copy

  • Click on View if you want a printed list
