Thursday, July 28th is World Hepatitis Day. Hepatitis is a viral illness that causes damage to the liver, among many other symptoms. While some strains of the illness have potential for going away with appropriate treatment, others can lead to long term damage and issues including cancer. It is important to be tested for hepatitis. World Hepatitis day focuses on the prevention of viral hepatitis to raise awareness among Veterans, the general public, and patients who currently have Hepatitis. Learn More at VA’s resource for hepatitis education and information.
